There are days where you feel like sh*t. There are days where you’ll look at yourself in the mirror and not like what you see. Or maybe there’s this person that has caught your interest but you’re too shy to make a move. Or maybe there’s this job that you’re too scared to apply to because you feel like you’re not qualified enough. Yeah, I’ve been there.

We become our own worst critic and tell ourselves that “I can’t do this” or “I’m not good enough for that”. We are so quick to beat ourselves down or be mean to ourselves and we don’t realize it. Think about it. You’re quick to compliment someone on what they wear, how they look, or simply for who they are. Why can’t you do the same for yourself? You’re human, with feelings, and deserve the affirmation that you so freely give to other people.

Positive affirmations are something that I’ve been practicing for some time now and it has given me a whole new perspective about myself and my worth. It is a great tool to eliminate those negative thoughts and focus on being kinder to yourself.

An affirmation is a statement that one desires to absorb into their life. It’s a powerful way to change the way you think. By changing a simple word in your vocabulary such as “I can’t”, “I’m not”, “I couldn’t”, or “I won’t” to words like “I can”, “I am”, “I will”, and “I’m able”.

You can incorporate positive affirmations into your life in many forms. My personal favorites are waking up in the morning and setting apart 5 to 10 minutes to state positive affirmation for myself. This way, I start off the day on the right foot and with good intentions. Another way is that at the end of every day, I take out my journal and write down my affirmations and anything that made me smile that day.

At first, not gonna lie, it felt weird telling myself all these positive things. That was something I never did. But it got me realizing how important my self-care and mental health is in my life. Slowly, my mindset starting to change and I started to feel more positive about myself.



So, I’ve created this list of positive affirmations that you can try to boost your confidence. Take these and write them down, say them out loud, or say them in your mind (preferably, it works best when you say them out loud). Or, you can gather ideas from the positive affirmations that I wrote down here and create your own!

1. Today is going to be a great day.

2. I am strong and confident to pursue anything I want.

3. I am doing the best I can and that’s ok.

4. I am enough.

5. I am blessed with a wonderful family and bomb friends.

6. I can achieve anything I set my mind to.

10. I am worthy of love.

11. I love myself and all my flaws.

12. I am valuable and worth it.

13. I will keep going even when I’m struggling.

17. I am not broken.

18. I believe that I am capable in everything that I’m doing.

19. I will succeed today.

20. I am worthy of all things wonderful.

Whenever you feel down or are having a bad day, I hope that these positive affirmations can help make an impact on your life too. Once you start changing your negative thinking habit, it will start to show in your actions as well.
