I have a life update, guys.

2020…need I say more?

That honestly could have been the whole blog post. Seriously, how are we still here? haha

Yeah, it’s been a rough year for everybody but fortunately, it is the last month of 2020 and we can look forward to setting some goals and making next year better.

I don’t like to dwell on everything that happened this year but if there is anything that I can take out of this year is that it taught me how fortunate I am to have the things that I have now instead of focusing on what I wanted this year to be. Of course, I had many plans for myself this year but plans always change and I’m totally ok with that.

We have to adapt to the things that are out of our control and be able to set goals for the things that we can control. I believe goals are a great way to grow.

This post is primarily about the goals that I’m setting for myself, but I encourage those who are reading to make goals for yourself, no matter how small you may think they are. It’s a goal nonetheless and if it gets you closer to the end goal, it’s totally worth it.

Lifes Update: My Goals for my Blog

Be more consistent

I was pretty consistent around April and early summer posting on my Instagram and posting weekly on my blog but that dwindled since I started focusing my attention on school.

I knew my blog will be here when I decide to come back but I didn’t want to abandon it completely because I love blogging and it’s something that I see myself doing for a long time.

So for my goals for the next year, I would really like to set aside some days where I can do photoshoots to post on social media and my blog and create my captions so they can be ready for the week when they’re ready to be posted.

As for my blog, posting once a week was doable for the most part, but considering I had to constantly be coming up with new ideas to dish out for my blog was getting a bit too much. I plan instead on posting at least 1 to 2 times a month and I believe that I will be much more successful this way.

Also, go ahead and follow me on Instagram. I will be much more active in the coming weeks.

Receive my Master’s degree

Year 2 down, one more year to go. Beginning December, I completed yet another semester of classes, inching me closer to my goal. I cannot believe that next semester, I’m going to be helping out actual clients. Not roleplaying with my classmates or learning from a textbook. Actually applying what I’ve learned thus far with my potential clients.

For some reason, this semester was pretty hard on me because of the fact that the class was held online. Introvert me is in love with the idea of doing school from home but something about this semester just really irritated me. Fortunately, I aced my courses but very glad that this semester is officially over and behind me.

If everything goes according to plan, I will be getting my Master’s degree in Counseling around this time next year. That’s just crazy to me.

To all of my fellow grad students having to adjust to the life of online school, hang in there. Keep your eye on the prize and before you know, you’ll be there!

Prioritize me

On a scale from 1-10, I would score prioritizing myself like at a 5. Not too great but not too bad either. I tend to be hard on myself to be kinder to myself and my body. It’s still a work-in-progress.

I’ve been journaling about different topics that I get off of Pinterest and it has helped somewhat. But what has definitely helped me in making time for myself is painting! Yes, painting. I have recently delved into the world of oil painting and boy oh boy, am I having such a fun time with that.

I’ve also been making it a priority in writing more in my gratitude journal. I have been writing on it on and off for the past two years but it has been the most consistent thing that I’ve kept up with ever and I’ve definitely noticed a change in perspective and mindset since I’ve started it. That’s the beauty of these things. You don’t have to do it daily, even if it’s just weekly or even monthly, it’s such good practice and definitely something that I encourage you guys to do.

Make my first $100 on my blog

My ultimate goal with this blog was always to make money but I guess I just never figured out how.

I plan on doing proper research on how I can effectively and exponentially make income with my blog. I’ll be starting small by setting a goal of generating $100 from my blog. It is something small but hey, the only way from here is up.

Lose weight and feel great

As of now, I have lost a total of 30 lbs, which I’m so pumped about but I’m nowhere near my goal.

The thing with me is that I get bored very quickly with repetitive things. So the workouts that I was doing were getting to be mundane and I eventually stopped. Also since my motivation has been deteriorating yet again, I lost interest in working out.

My goal for next year is to lose another 50 lbs and the way that I’ll be able to achieve this goal is to walk more and count my steps. I’ll also branch out and experiment on different types of workouts such as yoga, boxing, and maybe even running.

Man, I’ve missed blogging and I’m definitely going to make it my goal to post every month. Here’s to the end of a very, how should I say… an interesting…year, and let’s move forward and make 2021 the year of crushing our goals!
