A vision board is an amazing way to manifest your dream life. I’m sure everybody wants to live that perfect life of wealth, happiness, that dream house, dream job, and even soulmate.

I’ve heard about them and their potential of manifesting what you want but never got into it until I was invited to a vision board party and created my own vision board for the year.

Let me just say, I’m now a big fan of this and if you want to learn how to create your own vision board, here is all you need to know to get started and manifest your dream life.

WHAT IS A VISION BOARD?

So before we get started on creating your very own board, we need to know what a vision board is.

It’s not simply a piece of poster board where you slap on pretty quotes and pictures and your dream life will magically appear.

The idea behind it holds a deeper meaning. It’s more than just dreaming of what you want.

By having a vision board where you can VISUALLY see your “ideal life”, you start to unconsciously believe that what you want, can be REALITY.

How to Create a Powerful Vision Board

HOW CAN A VISION BOARD HELP REACH YOUR GOALS?

Put it somewhere you can see it daily

I think it’s a given. Placement is key.

In order to be able to make your vision board a reality, you have to SEE your vision board frequently. Think of where you spend the most time in your home; a place that’s personal to you.

It can be in y our bedroom, in your bathroom, an office (if you have one), etc.

Don’t create it and then stuff it in the closet where it collects dust. That would defeat the point of creating it in the first place.

We WANT our goals and intentions to come true so make sure you put it up where you hang out the most.

Helps keep you focused

By having your vision board up where you can see it, it helps keep you focused on your end goal.

A lot of us may stray away from our goals, which is normal. We humans are always trying to find the next best thing for ourselves. The whole point of the vision board is to keep you aligned with what you want.

Holds you accountable for what you want

Similar to keeping you focused, by creating a vision board you are holding yourself accountable to make sure that you make your goals a reality.

Now, you need to PUT IN THE WORK! If you sit around, hoping and wishing, it’s not going to manifest what you want. You’re not going to get closer to your dream life.

The purpose of the vision board is to do it with INTENTION AND PURPOSE. Believing that you already have what you are working for. That’s part of the law of attraction.

Believing that you’ve already attained everything you wish for, slowly will attract opportunities into your life where you actually CAN work towards manifesting your dream life.

HOW TO CREATE A POWERFUL VISION BOARD

WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS AND INTENTIONS FOR THE YEAR

Now that you know what a vision board is and how it helps you, it’s time to whip out that good ol’ paper and pencil.

This is the time where you really think about what you 100% ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY want to bring into your life.

Now I say 100% because if you’re not fully sure of what you want, the law of attraction and vision board WILL NOT WORK.

How do I know what I truly want?

One thing that stood out to me at the vision board party was before we started the actual creative process of creating our vision board, we were told to literally “word vomit” onto our paper everything that came to our mind. Everything that we desire and want in our lives. It didn’t matter if my goals and intentions were too grandiose or impossible.

Try it and don’t restrict yourself.

Just write it down. This is the time to be SELFISH because this is YOUR DREAM. You never know what can happen.

If you’re having a tough time thinking of what you want, ask yourself what do I need? For some people, it’s easier for them to ask for what they need but honestly, don’t be afraid to want something.

So anything and everything, write it down.

ENVISION WHAT YOU WANT YOUR YEAR(S) TO LOOK LIKE

Imagine yourself this year. What does it look like?

Is it filled with financial freedom, a big beautiful house, your soulmate, owning your own company? Think about that.

Now that you have word vomited all over your paper, take the time to narrow down your goals and intentions to at least 10-15 goals or intentions, whatever you want to call them.

Try not to make your vision board so chaotic, you don’t want to bring chaos into your life. Make somethings that kind of flows.

It’s also a good idea to make your vision boards specific. What I mean by this is that you can create multiple vision boards and assign each one to something specific in your life.

For instance, you can create one vision board and dedicate that one to your career goals and another one for your life goals. Make sense? In the end, your vision board is personal and unique to you. Create it however you want.

Also, we are human, so we are constantly changing and adapting to our environment.

Always know that your vision board is not a permanent thing. As you change throughout the year, your goals and intentions change as well.

So will your vision board! Don’t be afraid to update your goals and intentions on your vision board as you see fit.

COLLECT YOUR MATERIALS

Now is time for the good part: CREATING THE VISION BOARD!!!

There are a couple of ways to create one and I’ll be mentioning them here.

You can opt for the old fashioned cardboard-style vision board. This is the traditional, cut-pictures-out-of-a-magazine-and-glue-them-onto-the-cardboard kind of board that everybody familiar with. Pretty straight forward.

Supplies you need:

  • Cardboard (obvi)
  • Glue
  • Magazines
  • Your favorite quotes, phrases, words
  • Scissors
  • Arts & crafts material (markers, glitter, paint, etc.) be creative
  • Boatload of inspiration

GO DIGITAL (Canva)

If you are a more tech-savvy person, creating a digital board may best suit you.

Canva is more than just creating beautiful Pinterest graphics. It also offers SO much more!

Personally, for me, I very much prefer the digital version because I spend most of my time on the computer, which means I get to see my creation on the daily. I managed to create another vision board with a little bit of everything I wish to manifest this year.

Remember, this goes for both traditional, digital, or any type of board you want to create: choose pictures, quotes, or what have you that trigger that emotion of “YES THIS IS WHAT I WANT IN MY LIFE”.

Vision Board

I absolutely LOVE how my vision board came out!!! It’s so cute and everything I envision my life to be.

GET INSPIRATION FROM OTHER VISION BOARDS

Sometimes magazines just don’t spark that inspiration that you’re looking to include in your board.

Get on Pinterest and look up vision boards that resonate with your vision. Gather inspiration from others and create your own unique board.

Or even take some inspiration from the board I created!

PUT IT ALL TOGETHER

Once you got your supplies, take the time to look through magazines or whatever you decided to include in your board and see what really SPARKS that yes I want it moment.

Sometimes what you want can’t be expressed in the form of pictures, so definitely don’t be shy in incorporating phrases, quotes, or simple words that resonate with you.

It’s good to include a healthy mix of both pictures and words into your vision board so you can create a cohesive look throughout your creation.

Placement is key!

This is the time to map out how you want your board to look like.

But again you can do it however you like!

MAKE IT A HABIT TO LOOK AT YOUR VISION BOARD DAILY

Once you’ve completed your beautiful creation, don’t let what you just made be pushed aside and immediately forgotten.

This is where you need to do your part and actually take ACTION! Your dreams will not come true by just crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.

Most importantly, HAVE FUN in the process. Dream big and then dream even bigger.

What do you want to manifest in your life? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time,
